The Communications Group originally functioned as an informal group to provide expertise to other groups to enable internal and external communications. It aimed to cover: Communications strategy (including overview, checking and sign off of publicity materials); Media relations; Design; Web Team; Outreach; Campaigning; Writing. See posts from 2009. In October 2012, it met as a formal group to work on communications Strategy and some of the results of this work can be seen on the ‘Comms Group 2013 notes’ page.

The Communications Group meeting last week looked at different statistics about the website, Twitter, our newsletter and so on. A couple of surprising statistics were that the website had visitors from 57 countries last month and 75% of all visitors were visiting the site for the first time.
