There are a lot of really great innovative food projects in Lambeth. We have a range of community farms, greenhouses, box schemes, surplus food projects and cafes.
What can be done to strengthening our community food businesses so they can mutually support each other and grow the new, more local food system that we urgently need?
On Monday 22nd May Transition Town Brixton, along with Incredible Edible Lambeth and the Lambeth Food Partnership, is facilitating an event to bring together local people, community businesses and momentum towards more local food in Lambeth.
Participating projects include Myatts Fields Food Project, the Loughborough Farm, Local Greens veg box scheme and more.
As well as celebrating the inspiring things already happening we will identify gaps, needs and challenges and work out how we can solve them ‘better together’ and with the support of the community who are also warmly invited.
This is not a ‘talking shop’ but a connecting and solving workshop. It will be inspiring and useful for all comers. If you eat you’re in! Come and support your local food economy with your expertise, skills, time, enthusiasm, even money.. If you grow, sell, process, campaign on local food we definitely want you there.
