After a recent break, the Inner Transition Evenings at Treadwell in Streatham Hill are starting up again. You are invited to join an open session every second Tuesday of the month at 7pm. These evenings offer an opportunity for people in and around the transition movement to get together, explore the psychology of change and transition in various different contexts and support each other with creativity, dialogue and community in times of need.
Upcoming days and topics are:
February 9th – River of Life
In the February session we will creatively explore some aspects of our life journey and our relationships, share those with each other, drawing gratitude for where we are at and looking ahead of where we might go.
March 8th – Storytelling
In the March session we will explore the power and wisdom of an ancient mythical story and discover what it reflects back to ourselves.
April 12th – Space Clearing
In the April session we will be introduced to a ceremony inspired by Feng Shui to clear space of stagnant energies and make room for the new..
May 10th – Dreamwork
As Jung explained, the conscious mind and life is but a small iceberg in a sea of unconsciousness. Dreams are one way in which the dimension of the unconscious, and the ‘higher self’ can communicate with us. With the right tools we can have access to the profound messages and guidance revealed from within these hidden depths. Using Jungian expert Robert Johnson’s method, Amrita will share with us a simple approach of working with dreams for personal growth and transformation.
June 14th – The Work That Reconnects
In the April session we will explore Joanna Macy’s Work That Reconnects, finding ways of connecting to our gratitude as well as our pain for the world..
What is the Work That Reconnects?
The Work That Reconnects is a body of work that combines teachings and experiential group methods to help us build ‘motivation, creativity, courage and solidarity for the transition to a sustainable human culture’. Initially called Despair and Empowerment Work, it was developed over the last 50 years by Joanna Macy and others.
Drawing from deep ecology, systems theory and spiritual traditions, it encourages us to look with new eyes at the despair and pain in the world and strengthen our active response.
“… of all the dangers we face, from climate chaos to nuclear warfare, none is so great as the deadening of our response.” – Joanna Macy
