Transition Town Brixton will create London’s first public permaculture demonstration site and you can be a part of it. We are running a full Urban Permaculture Design Course in April and May 2013 which will transform Slade Gardens in Brixton.
This unique project will apply permaculture principles of food security, efficient water use, intelligent urban design and renewable energy to create a flagship demonstration site.
If you want to go green, are concerned about climate change, peak oil and our children’s future then this course is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a sustainable, local urban community.
Running throughout April and May, the design course will mainly meet at the Transition Town centre in Robsart street, just by Slade Gardens. Participants will get a detailed understanding of permaculture tools for sustainable design,  from buildings, food growing systems and communities to economic systems an urban house retro-fits.
The course is accredited by the Permaculture Association of Britain and participants will receive a PAB qualification and become part of a local permaculture support network.
Specially designed for people with full time jobs who don’t have a small-holding, this course runs almost exclusively on evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
