A useful way to get notified about a new post on the website + good for people without internet
The articles posted on our website are automatically tweeted on the TTBrixton Twitter account (for all posts) and the TTBFood Twitter account (for posts in the Food & Growing category).
You can either log in to Twitter to see them, or receive them on your phone – if your network is Vodaphone, Orange, 3 or O2, text follow TTBrixton or follow TTB_Food to 86444. You do not need a Twitter account, though if you do have one, you can also do this online.
It looks like for networks other than Vodaphone, Orange, 3 or O2, you can’t do this. But if anyone finds you can, please write a comment to this post letting us know how. Thanks.
Useful other commands are (in each case send the text to 86444):
- GET TTBrixton or TTB_Food  - This retrieves the latest tweet that has been posted.
- STOP – This will stop the tweets being sent to your phone.
There are more settings for this service, which allow you to do other things. For example:
- set the times of day you want to be sent texts (for example, not the middle of the night when some of our volunteers might be writing posts!)
- if you follow several twitter accounts, whether you just want to stop one of the twitter accounts you are following or all of them
