Lambeth and Transition Town Brixton are working together on a pilot Low Carbon Delivery Service to help independent local businesses compete with Tesco’s, Sainsbury’s and Ocado. Many market traders have noticed a sharp drop in bulk sales as parking has become more difficult.
This scheme will enable shoppers to come shopping without a car knowing they can have heavy shopping delivered. It will help business to business trade which the Brixton Pound has been working on for the last year. The pilot will operate initially on a 1 mile radius from Brixton town centre. We hope to have it operating early next year. It will be based for vehicle storage at the Brixton Re-use Centre and the TTB Community Shop.
We are applying for Ward Purse funding to cover capital costs to get the scheme off the ground.

1 bike and trailer £600
2 mobile phones: £50
1 laptop computer £350
TOTAL £2,400
