WELCOME

What is this? This is a guide to HOW TO GET A COMMUNITY GARDEN GROWING in or around Brixton.

Our pack is specifically made with Brixton in mind, with local tips for local people and local sources of support. It also contains links to where to find more expert advice on specific topics or problems, either online, or from real live people. We will try to keep updating our WIKI pages online and already have more information there than we could fit into this booklet. We would love it if you could also let us know your local tips so we can add them… go on, share! Email us at ttbfood@gmail.com and put Grower’s Pack comment in the subject line.

Who is it for? It’s for any one thinking about or already starting some sort of community growing adventure. This can be an equally exciting and scary prospect and few people want to jump into it alone. It’s very important that all community grow ing projects support each other and share experiences, but it is also true that every one is different and as a local person you really do know best what will suit your street or estate… The practical knowledge comes from doing, and in no time at all you will be an expert on your area, you have overcome the biggest hurdle just by starting. We hope this pack will reveal to you how much local support there is for urban growing and that it will help you to take the next step – it really is worth it!

Good luck!
